Organized Gift Guide

I love a gift guide, but as I’m in the business of encouraging others to own less, it can feel counterintuitive to recommend buying things. That being said, I am a big proponent of fewer, nicer things. I’ve put together a guide that couples quality gifts with the products I’d use to organize them in my own home, along with a few items that won’t require organization at all. These gifts are from friends, clients, and people who inspire me each day. I hope you find something to share with someone special in your life.

Parterre Florence Placemats + Neat Method Drawer Dividers

These Parterre Florence Placemats will elevate your table year-round and this print is a personal favorite. Table linens are one of my favorite things to organize because they are visually so appealing. I file fold them, then use a Neat Method Acacia Drawer Divider to section off an area of a kitchen or China cabinet drawer.

Arabesque Edge Platter + SALT Cabinet Storage Rack

Platters are hard. to. store. But so much fun to have! I’ve become an expert on platter storage after receiving an influx of them for our wedding this summer - none of which stack nicely. Once I started storing them vertically, I was more inclined to select platters like this scallop-edged one from Olive Lane Shop. I use a vertical storage rack to keep them propped up and supported. The plus is, when I want to use one, I don’t have to unearth it from under 50 pounds of other platters.

Mary Frances Maker Tie Bar + Neat Method Lined Tray

Mary Frances makes a variety of beautiful gifts, and her tie bars are ready to ship. They will never go out of style, and go well with any season. For storage, I’ve been repeatedly using these Neat Method Acacia Lined Trays for jewelry, watches, and sunglasses. They are heavy, with a deep-wood stain that gives them a more masculine feel than the traditional jewelry box.

Peach Ornament + Jubilee Ornament Storage Chest

Each year, my friends and I host an ornament exchange, with a prize for the crowd’s favorite ornament. This year, Over the Moon made it easy to find the right one with their collection of cheeky, high-quality, pop-culture-focused ornaments. For storage - you might think you don’t need divided, red, holiday-specific storage. I’m here to tell you that that you do and it’s worth it. Decorating for the holidays is a joyous time, but more often than not, the decor takedown happens in a post Christmas haze where you just want it all gone. If you have fool-proof holiday storage, it will make the cleanup much easier - and you’ll thank yourself this time next year.

Natalist Good Morning TeaOrnament + The Home Edit Lazy Susan

If you have someone in your life who’s expecting, Natalist offers this “Good Morning Tea” to help with morning sickness, along with a variety of other products to help support parents and those who hope to become parents. To store, I think there’s something a little luxurious about having your morning tea on a lazy Susan, especially these wooden ones from The Home Edit.

Red Clay Spicy Everything Salt + Paper & Pear Labels

I do most of my organizing in South Carolina, so it’s rare that I find a pantry without some Red Clay products. When decanting spices, I often leave the Red Clay spices in their original containers because the label looks so good anyways, But, if you’d prefer a more uniform look, Paper & Pear has the best labels, hands down. They’re the only ones I use, and offer a sleek, streamlined look.

Space Reimagined - No Storage Necessary

I tend to wince when I hear that my client has a storage unit. In most instances, storage units = postponed decisions. Then I met the owner behind Space Reimagined, and got really excited. You select a box from a variety of sizes, starting at the $15, drop it in the mail, then get 48-hour shipping back to you for free, on-demand. I truly believe this is the next generation of storage and appeals more to millennials and gen-zers who have no interest in hoofing it out to a dusty storage unit. This is a fantastic gift for the person who really does have everything. Personally, I’m going to use it to store my holiday decorations when I take them down this year.

Sunday Plans Organization Session

Last but not least, you can always give the gift of organization. I’ve revamped my gift card experience so you can purchase Sunday Plans sessions in 3-hour segments for your friends, family, or self. The gift card will be emailed directly to you or your giftee with instructions on how to book. January is a big resolution time, so if you or someone in your life would like to kickstart your new year with some clarity and order, a Sunday Plans gift card is a timely option. And look out in the next few days for some extra savings.
